Hi everyone We hope that you had a great Christmas and weren’t too caught out with the surprise snow this year. A big thank you to all our volunteers who braved the snow, and helped out over the Christmas period. We would like to start by giving a big thank you to MARS UK for again providing another year’s yard insurance for Pablos, which enables volunteers and visitors to be able to come on to the yard, and also enables students, such as those on the Duke of Edinburgh Award to volunteer their time here.
Also a team from MARS UK came to Pablos in mid-December and very generously tarmac’d the yard, and the 3 outside pens. This is a huge job they undertook, all the team members worked really hard, and they provided all the materials. This will make it easier for the volunteers to work on the yard, as there’s now less mud!, and also the ponies who live in the pens which flood in the really wet weather, now can have dry hoofs and are loving their new pens. Again a huge thank you.
A great time was had by all at the Pablos Christmas party on Friday 12th December at the Royal British Legion Club in Melton Mowbray where an amazing £400 was raised. Volunteers brought along a delicious Christmas buffet and danced to live music from Bakers Treat, who provide their services free of charge, and then everyone danced to the disco until the end of the evening.
Our next fundraising evening is a Fashion Show on Thursday 29th January 2015 at the Royal British Legion – Melton Mowbray. There are Major High Street Brands at rock bottom prices, with reductions starting at half price or more!!! Doors open 7.30pm and tickets are only £5 including a FREE complimentary drink on arrival. You can get your tickets from Carole on 07745 628684 or from Cards at the Melton Mall, in Melton Mowbray.
A big thank you to Joan, Jane and friends for this year Pablo’s Christmas tree in the festival at All Halllows Church, in Gedling. All the decorations were handmade by Jane and Joan and friends. At the end of the Christmas Tree Festival all the decoration were sold off which raised a fantastic £150, also on the day a few sponsorship for horses and ponies were signed up. A really big thank you to Sarah, Michelle and Jacqui for their very kind donations, and to the person who unanimously paid of our vet bill, to Gemma and Amy for the Melton Santa run on 14th December for raising over £50, and to all the volunteers who help out at the Melton Fair, and to John and Jenny and friends for raising over £2000 from the Saturday stall at the Melton Market over this year!
Carole would like to take this opportunity to give a sincere and huge thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped look after the horses and ponies at Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary over the past year. The horses and ponies are so lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people who generously give their time and energy as the Sanctuary would not be able to run without you. Also, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the Sanctuary in 2014. This includes those kindly giving donations, giving kindly every month on the Standing Order Scheme, sponsoring a horse or pony, donating food, rugs and equipment, or holding their own fundraising event. Every donation, no matter how small or large is so gratefully received and means so much to the Sanctuary. Your help this year is so deeply appreciated and I sincerely thank you from the heart.
