With Winter creeping up on us, all the volunteers are working hard to prepare for the coming months, which are always a tough time for all horse sanctuaries, and Pablos is no exception. We value our volunteers and it would be great if there is anyone out there who could give their time to help out, even for just a few hours each week, it would be much appreciated.
Tickets are now on sale for the first Pablo’s Christmas Party, to be held on Friday 12th December at the Royal British Legion Club in Melton Mowbray. A great night is planned and with tickets being only £5 which includes a Christmas buffet and dancing to live music from Bakers Treat, and then dancing to the disco til the small hours. For more information or to purchase your ticket, please see Carole.
Two lovely ladies, Jane and Joan have been busy hand-knitting hats, gloves and other items to sell to raise funds for Pablos, and are holding a stall and Tombola on 22nd November at the Elwes Arms pub on Oakdale Road in Carlton, and they also will be taking their stall to the Tree Festival, to be held on the 5th to the 7th December at All Hallows Church in Gedling, from 10.00am to 4.00pm each day. If you are in the area, please pop down and see what lovely items they have on offer.
As Christmas is getting closer, have you thought about giving someone a Christmas gift of a years “Sponsorship” of one of our lovely horses and ponies as a present? It is a great gift and is also helping by supporting the horses and ponies. Just click on the Sponsorship tab and for only £20 it can be delivered before Christmas.
We would like to give a few big thank you to the following; to Leah, who has fostered one of our horses and given them a lovely home for life, has held a stall and raised £50, to Sharon and Jeff for bringing over some bales of haylage which was generously donated by Sue and Gordon from Wymeswold, to long-standing supporters Ann and Ken for their continued car-booting sales and to volunteers John and Kirsty for giving a talk to the Melton Widows Group at Samworth Centre, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, about Pablos Horse Sanctuary which was very much enjoyed.
Also we would like to thank Hallmark Resources on Saxelby Road, for very kindly offering to fill up the water troughs every day for the horses and ponies that are kept on the site near to their offices, and to Leesom Livery for their very kind donation of bags of feed and hay, and also for signing up some of their liveries to donate £1 per week on their livery costs which is being donated to Pablos.
Again, we are not able to thank everyone who supports Pablos here, but do appreciate every bit of help and support that is given. We do hope to be able to see you and your friends at the Christmas party on the 12th December.
Have a good week
