At the beginning of April all the horses and ponies were able to go back on to their Summer paddocks and have been enjoying the lovely warm weather that we have had over the past few weeks. Some of our horses and ponies have gone up to the fields in Burton to stay with volunteer Andrea, to be cared for on that site.
We would like to give a big thank you to Norman, Denise and Suzanne, and car booters Ken and Ann for being such good friends of the Sanctuary for their continued support and contributions. Also to Melton Drop In Centre for their donation and to Joan from Pee Wee Toilet Hire who completed the Santa Run at Christmas for her donation.
Volunteers Joan and Jane held a Pre-Easter tombola, and volunteer John held a stall at Melton Market to raise funds to help to pay off some of the Winter bills.
On Easter Sunday a surprise foal was born to one of our special rescue mares. The new little one is called Bunny, as the little filly looks as cute as a baby rabbit. We are pleased to report that both mother and daughter are doing fine and are delighted that the little one is healthy.
Volunteer Kirsty and her friend Vicky will be doing a sponsored bike ride about Rutland Water on 11th, if you would like to support Kirsty or Vicky please get in touch.
The quarterly newsletter will be moving to a twice yearly newsletter, to be a Summer and Winter newsletter. This is to help keep costs down, so those who kindly sponsor a horse or pony, or generously give a gift each month, will be receiving a Summer newsletter over the coming weeks.
Have a good May.
Well it feels like Spring is here, with some lovely warmer sunny and April showers.
We would like to thank all the kind people who have recently helped out by donating hay and / or haylage. We are sincerely grateful for all the donations, as hay is one of the major bills that the Sanctuary has.
Volunteer Wendy will be taking the New and Nearly New Equine stall to the Soar Valley Riding Club on Sunday 6th April, for the final time. Wendy is moving away from the area and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported her and the stall over the past 4 years. And all at Pablos will miss Wendy and wish her all the very best in her new home.
Volunteer John has started a Pablos Facebook auction site that’s local to Melton Mowbray, so check it out to see if you can grab yourself some great bargains. John is holding a fundraising stall at Melton Mowbray on Saturday 5th April. John is looking for volunteers for a fundraising event at Prestwold Hall on 2nd and 3rd August, if you are able to help please email John on email@example.com
There are now 2 new ways to help the horses and ponies at Pablos: You can sign up with Pablos at http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk and every time you make a purchase online, the retailer donates a percentage of the cost price directly to Pablo’s. The best bit is that it does not cost you a penny and there are discounts/printable vouchers and various deals for you as well, so everyone can benefit. Also you can now donate directly through Paypal via firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a good week.
