Thank you for your support in 2013

“I would like to take this opportunity to give a sincere and huge thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped look after the horses and ponies at Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary over the past year.  The horses and ponies are so lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people who generously give their time and energy as the Sanctuary would not be able to run without you.

Also, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the Sanctuary in 2013.  This includes those kindly giving donations, giving kindly every month on the Standing Order Scheme, sponsoring a horse or pony, donating food, rugs and equipment, or holding their own fundraising event.  Every donation, no matter how small or large is so gratefully received and means so much to the Sanctuary.

With all your help, this year we have been able to take in additional horses and ponies that were in need of Sanctuary, whilst still looking after those who need long-term care.

Your help this year is so deeply appreciated and I sincerely thank you from the heart.

 Love Carole”

Christmas countdown

Hi Everyone

You may have visited our fantastic Christmas tombola stall at the Victorian Fair in Melton Mowbray on Sunday 2nd December.  A sincere thank you to everyone who support the stall by either helping out with the prizes (in particular Sue, Jane and Joan), and for wrapping the prizes.  Also a huge thank you to John, Jenny, Charlotte and Kirsty for running the stall, with Carole joining them in the afternoon.  Sue Gowen kindly supplied victorian hats and shawls so that everyone could really look the part.  An amazing £500 was raised which will help towards the vet’s bill.

We are very pleased that Mars UK has very generously offered to fund another year of Yard Insurance.  This will allow volunteers on the yard, students to have their work experience here, and people with special needs to visit the horses and ponies on the yard.  THANK YOU MARS UK for your support.

Pablos Tree

Pablos Tree

The Pablos Christmas tree at St Mary’s tree festival, with the title of “Everyone’s a winner” using rosettes with photos of the horses as the decorations has been very much admired and you can see how wonderful the tree looks.

For the ninth year running, Ragdale Hall joined forces with the Melton Times to give local good causes the chance to apply for part of £10,000 we have allocated to try and help the local community. Ragdale’s staff chose 25 good causes (of the 48 who applied this year) to receive a share of the cash. Cheques and certificates were presented at a ceremony held on Thursday 5th December which Carole was invited to and received a cheque for £300 to spend on stone for hardstanding for some of the ponies, as when it rains, puddles appear and the stone will stop this from happening.

We would like to give a HUGE get well soon to Gerry, who is an integral part of our Fix It Team, who had an unfortunate accident last week at work which resulted in broken ribs.  Hopefully Gerry will make a full recovery and well see him back at the yard very soon.  We’re missing you already!

Wendy took Pablo’s New and Nearly New equine stall to a British showjumping Leic/Rutland branch table top sale at Ullesthorpe on 29th November. (nr Lutterworth) which raised an amazing £161.00. A big thank you to Julie and Liz for their kind invitation to the event.

A big thank you this week to Jane and Joan for holding a tombola at The Elwes Arms in Carlton, Nottingham, and to Ken and Ann for all the hard work this year holding car boots sales, and to John, Daniel and Gayle for holding a store collection at Morrisons supermarket in Melton on 28th and 29th November which raised £205 and thank you to all the customers for their support.   A special thank you to all those who have sent in Christmas cards, well wishes and donations, as every penny donated is really appreciated as this helps to keep the sanctuary running.

Samantha is holding a fundraising stall at the Melton Mowbray Market on Saturday 14th December and on Saturday 21st December, John, Kirsty, Jenny and Jo will be holding a special Christmas tombola at Melton Mowbray market with great prizes are there to be won.  So please, if you are in Melton on either of theses dates, pop over and support us:)

Have a great week.
