Victorian Fair this weekend

Hi Everyone

This weekend coming will see us into the month of December and with Christmas being a few weeks away, this can only mean one thing – The Victorian Fair in Melton Mowbray on Sunday 1st December.  Our super volunteers,  John, Jenny and Kirsty will be holding a fundraising stall at the Victorian Fair, with lots of fantastic prizes to be won.  Our fundraising stall will be outside “Greggs” shop so please give us a visit!

We have a Pablos Christmas tree at St Mary’s tree festival, with the title of “Everyone’s a winner” using rosettes with photos of the horses as the decorations!  A big thank you to volunteer Jenny and her neighbour Rita for decorating the tree.

On Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November, our volunteers will be at Morrisons Store in Melton Mowbray holding a store collection to raise funds.  If you will be visiting Morrisons over this time, please pop over and say hello.

This week we would like to give a huge thank you to Denise for her donation of items for our stall, and to the staff of Lands End for their kind cheque received this week, and to Jo from the Crown and Plough in Long Clawson for her kind donation of 20 bales of hay.  Also a huge thank you to a lady who wishes to remain anonymous, for her kind donation of small bales of hay.

We would like to thank the families of Kate Towle and Patricia Kevill for thinking of us at this sad time as their loved one has passed away.  Both families very kindly asked for donations instead of flowers, to be donated to Pablos to help the horses and ponies here.

Have a good week

More help from Mars

All repaired and painted by Mars UK

All repaired and painted by Mars UK

Hi Everyone

We would like to give another sincere thank you to Mars UK again for sending more of their staff to spend the day at the yard Wednesday and Thursday last week. During their time at the yard, they repaired the long fence which divided up two paddocks, and then finished off by painting the fence to give it the much needed protection against the weather elements. So a huge thank you Matt Field and his team, and to Laura and Helen and the SIM team, for the fencing and who also kindly arranged and donated bags of pony nuts as well. You’re all stars.

Thank you this week to the staff at Lands’ End head office in Rutland for their kind donation, and also to long-standing supporters Suzanne, and Graham from Global Safety for their kind donations. We would also like to thank Lilla (not Miller, as in last week’s blog) for her kind donation of hay, and to Henry Brown for his kind donation of pony nuts, and to Denise (who fosters Tika) for bags of food. As there are 70+ horses and ponies in care, it takes a lot to feed them and all donations of food are really appreciated.

Our volunteers, John, Alison, Jessie, Jo, Jenny and Kirsty for helping out on the street collection in Melton Mowbray town centre on Saturday and raised a fantastic £130. Thank you to everyone who supported us.   We are still appealing for volunteers for the Morrisons store collection on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November.  Also if you have any items that you could donate as tombola prizes for the Victorian Fayre at Melton Mowbray on Sunday 1st December, please let Carole know, and if you, or somebody that you know, could help out on the stall on the day, please get in touch.

Have a good week.

Hi Everyone

The new menage fencing!

The new replacement menage fencing!

This week we would like  to give a sincere big thank you to the team from Mars UK, who came to help out for the day on Friday 8th November.  Matt Field and his team worked tirelessly throughout the rain on Friday to replace one-side of the menage fencing and a whole selection of the fencing between the yard and pony field.  As you can see, the team did a fantastic job with the fencing – please see more photos below to see the team hard at work!
