All the horses and ponies are well and have been enjoying the sunny breaks in the wet weather this week. We are all so excited and pleased to announce that Pablo’s is going to hold an Open Day on Sunday 26th August 2012. Plans are now underway and more details will follow – so please hold the date in your diary and we would love to see you all there!
On Saturday 30th June there is a Charity Football and Family Fun Day at Hamilton Tennis Club, in Melton Mowbray which is being held to raise funds for “Alternative” (a crisis pregnancy and baby loss service), Cancer Research and Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary. We would like to thank the organisers for their support and wish them all the best for the day. Please see poster for more details.
Our volunteer Wendy took Pablo’s New and Nearly-new equine stall to Riverside Riding Center on Saturday which raised £50, a huge thank you to Rebecca and all of her liveries and customers for supporting Pablos. It was great that the weather had finally allowed the show to go ahead, (as regular readers know 4 shows were cancelled due to wet weather which resulted in a loss of 100s pounds to Pablos) and Wendy was able to hold the equine stall to raise much needed funds. Wendy will be at Soar Valley Riding Club next Sunday 8th July (weather permitting!!) and has some great equine items on offer.
Our volunteers, Chris and Sue held a stall on Melton Market on Saturday which raised nearly £100. This will be spent on materials for urgent maintenance work that is needed on the yard, and also for the planned improvements that will need to be completed over the Summer period. All work is to benefit the horses and ponies environment, and if there is anybody out there who could kindly donate any building materials, such a breeze-blocks, builders sand, pea-shingle, hardcore – the list goes on, it would REALLY be appreciated. If you are able to offer any help, please could you contact Carole. Many thanks.
Also this week, a thank you to volunteer Alex who is going around all the paddocks, on all the sites, with the strimmer to keep the weeds down and tidy the fields. Unfortunately, the trusty old strimmer is getting bit weary now and was wondering if anyone out there could donate a strimmer, or know of one for a small price? Please could you contact Carole.
A big thank you to the customers of Lifestyle Gym in Melton Mowbray for raising £21 in their collection tin. Our volunteer, John will be holding a fundraising stall at Cotgrave Festival of Sports next Saturday 30th June, so if you are at the Festival, please pop over and say hello and see if you can win some great prizes.
Have a great week.
